Come join our team at Capital Heating and Cooling as a Generator Technician! This opportunity is in Birmingham, AL and is a full-time role focused heavily on diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of residential and light commercial standby generator systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Service and repair generators: change air filters, change oil, check battery levels, check spark plugs, etc.
  • Perform on-site planned maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting for customers generators (includes DC & AC Voltage equipment)
  • Work independently or with a small team and company vehicle servicing residential and commercial standby generators
  • Involves multiple appointments per day
  • Provide excellent customer service, craftsmanship, and attention to detail with your work

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 4 years of experience minimum in a mechanical setting working on 8kw-100kw generators
  • Proven knowledge of preventative maintenance, load bank testing, and engine diagnostics
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manual
  • Basic set of tools, specialty tools will be provided
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and work outside
  • Valid driver’s license
