What is a per diem flux core welder?

A Per Diem Flux Core Welder is a skilled tradesperson who uses the flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) process and is typically hired on a temporary or project basis, often receiving a daily allowance (per diem) for living expenses. These welders are commonly employed in industries such as construction, shipbuilding, or manufacturing, where there is a demand for short-term welding work. Per diem roles are ideal for those willing to travel or work remotely, as the compensation helps cover costs like lodging and meals. The flux core welding process itself is valued for its speed and ability to weld thick materials, making these welders essential for heavy-duty projects.
