Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate therapy sessions aimed at altering clients' distorted beliefs surrounding food, body image, and self-worth, cultivating a supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Teach clients essential coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills to empower them in resisting detrimental eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate effectively with the treatment team to ensure a coordinated approach to care that addresses all facets of clients' lives.
  • Provide psychoeducation for clients and their families to deepen their understanding of eating disorders and establish a nurturing recovery atmosphere.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of clients' progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Tennessee.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities specifically focused on eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the multifaceted nature of eating disorders and their potential co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and their families.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in a clinical setting, specifically dealing with eating disorders or related mental health issues.
