How much do per diem colonoscopy jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average hourly pay for per diem colonoscopy in the United States is $25.72, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.31 and $34.13 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is a per diem job worth it?

A per diem colonoscopy job offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to gain experience without a long-term commitment. However, it typically provides lower pay and fewer benefits compared to full-time positions, so its value depends on individual financial needs and career goals.

What is a Per Diem Colonoscopy position?

A Per Diem Colonoscopy position refers to a flexible, as-needed job in which a medical professional, typically a gastroenterologist, performs colonoscopy procedures on a temporary or on-call basis. Unlike full-time roles, per diem positions do not guarantee a set number of hours or benefits, but they offer greater scheduling flexibility and often a higher hourly rate. These roles are ideal for physicians seeking supplemental income or work-life balance. Responsibilities usually include conducting colonoscopies, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with medical staff in a variety of healthcare settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Per Diem Colonoscopy professionals, and how can they be managed effectively?

Per Diem Colonoscopy professionals often face challenges such as adapting to different clinical environments and working with various teams on short notice. Since per diem roles involve filling in as needed, you may encounter unfamiliar equipment or protocols, requiring quick learning and flexibility. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth collaboration with permanent staff. Proactively reviewing patient charts and clarifying expectations with nursing and support teams before procedures can help manage these challenges successfully.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Per Diem Colonoscopy Nurse, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Per Diem Colonoscopy Nurse, you need a valid RN license, experience in endoscopy or gastroenterology procedures, and a solid understanding of pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care. Familiarity with endoscopic equipment, sedation protocols, and electronic health records (EHR) systems is typically required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in urgent situations are vital soft skills. These skills and qualities ensure patient safety, efficient workflow, and high-quality care during specialized procedures performed on an as-needed basis.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Per Diem Colonoscopy jobs typically do not pay $2000 a day; they usually offer daily rates that depend on experience, location, and facility policies. High-paying medical procedures or specialized consulting roles in healthcare may reach such daily earnings, but these are rare and often require advanced certifications and significant expertise.

What is the highest paying per diem job?

Per diem colonoscopy jobs tend to pay higher rates compared to many other per diem healthcare roles due to specialized skills and the need for flexibility. Compensation varies by location, experience, and facility, with some positions offering premium pay for weekend or emergency coverage. Overall, specialized medical procedures like colonoscopies generally command higher per diem rates within healthcare staffing.

How to make an extra $2000 a month as a nurse?

Per Diem nurses can increase their income by taking on additional shifts, working in high-demand specialties, or gaining specialized certifications such as ACLS or PALS. Working overtime, night shifts, or in multiple facilities can also help reach the $2000 extra monthly income goal.
