Per Diem Nurse

Who We Are Looking For:

Are you the Per Diem Nurse we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others while working with a dynamic team of nurses by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working!

JRI's Developing Abilities program provides opportunities for people to live in homes and apartments in their communities and to grow through job training, supported employment and day habilitation services. We provide therapeutic and social supports to enrich the lives of people with disabilities.

LPN's must be willing to travel within the Middlesex area; Framingham, Waltham, Lexington, Marlboro and Westboro.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $56,160 to $60,320 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

In this role, you will:

  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Follow doctor's orders and individual medication awareness programs; assess possible side effects; complete documentation; verify the narcotics count.
  • Provide routine medical care and respond to medical emergencies during scheduled hours
  • Follow protocols to notify residential programs, guardians, Willow Tree Management team, Day Hab Director or Health Care Coordinator
  • Assist with daily living and personal care activities as necessary to assess medical needs or ensure the safety of individuals
  • Document daily notes regarding any treatment or assessment done within the day.
  • Document attendance and follow up on individuals that are absent
  • Consult daily with Supervisory staff in regard to specific directions for individual care.
  • Comply with DDS and DPH regulations for professional medical practice and care through proper documentation, assessment, and treatment.

Requirements:

  • Current professional LPN license in Massachusetts.
  • Experience in the field of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Alzheimer's preferred.
  • Experience with people with multiple medical and behavioral needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive, positive relationships with people from varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to follow state and JRI policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently without a supervisor or other colleagues present.
  • MAP, First Aid, CPR certification and certification in non-violent crisis intervention prevention techniques.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our clients!
  • Requires a valid driver's license and ability to drive for work.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
