What is a per diem acupuncture teaching?

A Per Diem Acupuncture Teaching position is a flexible, as-needed role where a licensed acupuncturist instructs students in acupuncture techniques, theory, and clinical practice. These educators are not full-time faculty but are hired to teach specific classes, labs, or supervise clinical shifts based on institutional needs. Per diem teachers often bring real-world experience to the classroom and may balance teaching with their own clinical practice. The schedule and hours can vary, making it a good option for professionals seeking flexible work arrangements.

What are the typical responsibilities of a per diem acupuncture teaching role, and how does the flexible schedule impact daily work?

A Per Diem Acupuncture Teaching position typically involves instructing students in acupuncture theory and practice, supervising clinical sessions, and providing feedback on student techniques. Due to the per diem nature of the job, work hours are flexible and based on institutional needs, which allows instructors to balance teaching with their own clinical practice or other commitments. However, this flexibility can also mean variable weekly hours and the need to adapt quickly to changing schedules or curriculum requirements. Collaboration with other faculty and participation in curriculum development are often part of the role, supporting a dynamic and team-oriented work environment.
