Job description

The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and innovative clinical-educator faculty to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality integrative clinical care, contribute to the development and delivery of integrative health education, and participating in scholarly activities within our academic institution. This role is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible professional in Integrative Health who is passionate about advancing the field through both patient care and education. This person will have a primary faculty appointment within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive integrative clinical care addressing physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences on health.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care combining conventional medicine with integrative therapies (e.g., acupuncture, mindfulness, lifestyle medicine).

  • Develop and implement educational programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Mentor and supervise trainees, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

  • Contribute to program development and expansion of integrative health services within Vanderbilt and the community.

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board certification or eligibility in one of the following: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds.

  • Fellowship training or significant experience in Integrative Medicine is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated interest in integrative health practices, including mind-body medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle medicine (nutrition, exercise, health behavior).

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teaching skills.

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and holistic approaches in clinical practice.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in academic medicine, including teaching and mentoring.

  • Prior involvement in integrative health curriculum development.

  • Strong track record of scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations).
