Description
Position Summary
The Senior People Analytics Specialist is a hands-on technical expert responsible for designing, building, and scaling Moran's workforce intelligence and people analytics capabilities. Reporting directly to the VP of Total Rewards & People Analytics, this role transforms complex HR data into actionable, executive-ready insights.
The ideal candidate is a data storyteller and technical problem-solver who will build the foundational reporting infrastructure, establish data governance, and run predictive analytics to support talent retention, compensation strategy, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness across our organization.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
Data Infrastructure and Dashboard Development
  • Design, build, and maintain robust, automated executive dashboards and reporting suites tracking core workforce metrics.
  • Establish clean, reliable data pipelines by partnering with HRIS to ensure data integrity.
  • Define and standardize consistent metrics, definitions, and data governance standards across the organization.

Workforce Intelligence and Predictive Modeling
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses and predictive modeling on flight-risk factors, talent retention, and labor cost trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance and HR leadership to model workforce costs, organizational restructures, and compensation budget cycles.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling visual narratives and presentations for executive leadership and business partners.

Operational Reporting and Insights
  • Manage ad-hoc data requests and deep-dive analytical inquiries.
  • Support annual compensation and merit planning cycles by providing equity analysis and budget modeling support.
  • Continuously audit data hygiene, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure high-confidence reporting.

Compliance, Governance, and Confidentiality
  • Ensure strict data privacy, security, and confidentiality controls are maintained across all employee records and analytics models.
  • Support workforce-related regulatory reporting, pay equity analysis, and audit support.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Human Resources, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of specialized experience in people analytics, workforce planning, or HR data analysis; experience in construction or maritime industries preferred.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and HRIS reporting modules (UKG Pro or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation and querying (SQL, advanced Excel/VBA, or R/Python preferred); experience with Python preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical data outputs into clear, strategic business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, data accuracy, and adherence to strict confidentiality standards.

Working Conditions
  • Ability and willingness to work in Jacksonville, FL or New Canaan, CT office 3 days a week.

Our target pay range for the Senior People Analytics Specialist position is $98,000 - $108,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
