Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $80.15hr - $85.15hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst supporting HCM ERP implementations, production stabilization, or complex system integrations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to follow data and transactions across multiple systems and organizations.
  • Experience analyzing integration data, mappings, transformation rules, logs, reports, or similar technical artifacts.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and translate business questions into specific technical or functional investigations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, organize multiple issues, identify patterns, coordinate across multiple teams, and drive problems to resolution.
  • Assignment is contingent upon customer renewal and availability of adequate funding.
  • Availability to start no later than 2 weeks (10 business days) after the selection date.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot Workday-to-benefits-provider integrations and the data exchanged between systems.
  • Trace employee lifecycle, benefits, and payroll-related transactions end-to-end, including hires, transfers, job changes, compensation changes, payroll events, terminations, and other transactions affecting benefit eligibility, enrollment, contributions, or reporting.
  • Investigate reported discrepancies and determine the root cause: data issue, Workday configuration, benefit plan configuration, integration logic or mapping, timing or processing issue, provider-side processing, or expected system behavior.
  • Review integration outputs, inbound and outbound files or messages, logs, reports, Workday transactions, and provider responses to identify where an issue originates.
  • Work with benefits and retirement subject matter experts to understand applicable business rules, expected results, and business impact.
  • Collaborate with Workday functional teams, developers, integration teams, benefit providers, vendors, and other stakeholders to validate findings and implement or recommend corrective actions.
  • Document root-cause analysis, findings, business rules, and recommended resolutions in a format that can be understood by both technical and business audiences.
  • Help distinguish true defects from situations in which systems are operating as configured but the resulting behavior, business rule, or data relationship was not previously understood.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end data flow diagrams showing how key employee, payroll, retirement, and benefits transactions move through Workday integrations to external benefits providers.
  • Provide root-cause analysis and resolution recommendations for reported integration issues.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data flows, transaction behavior, system dependencies, and relevant business rules.
  • Provide issue tracking and status updates for assigned integration problems.
  • Validate fixes and confirm that corrected transactions produce the expected results across Workday and the applicable benefit provider.
  • Provide recommendations for configuration, integration, process, or data changes where appropriate.
  • Identify recurring issues or patterns that may require broader configuration, integration, or process changes.

Nice to Have:

  • Workday experience, particularly with integrations, HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and employee lifecycle transactions.
  • Experience supporting integrations with benefits providers, retirement systems, pension administrators, insurance carriers, payroll-related vendors, or similar external partners.
  • Experience with retirement or pension benefit administration, including retirement benefit system configuration, plan eligibility rules, contribution processing, or related ERP benefit configuration.
  • Familiarity with APIs, web services, middleware, integration platforms, XML/JSON, flat-file integrations, or data transformation concepts.
  • Experience supporting Workday or another large ERP platform during implementation, post-go-live stabilization, or production operations.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting large ERP platforms during post-go-live stabilization or production operations.
