What are some common challenges penguin keepers face when caring for penguins in a zoo or aquarium setting?

Penguin keepers often face challenges related to maintaining proper environmental conditions, such as temperature control and water quality, to ensure the health of the penguins. They must also monitor the birds closely for signs of illness, as penguins can be sensitive to changes in their environment and diet. Additionally, keepers collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other animal care staff to implement enrichment activities that promote natural behaviors and prevent boredom. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to animal welfare.

What are penguins?

Penguins are a group of aquatic, flightless birds primarily found in the Southern Hemisphere, especially Antarctica. They are known for their distinctive black and white plumage and their upright, waddling gait. Penguins are highly adapted to life in the water, with strong flippers for swimming and a diet that mainly consists of fish, squid, and krill. They live and breed in colonies, often enduring extreme cold and harsh environments. There are about 18 different species of penguins, each adapted to various climates and habitats.

Social Media Content Creator

My Healthy Penguin

Rancho Cucamonga, CA โ€ข On-site

Part-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Salary: $20-22/hr + Target Bonuses

Tuesday - Friday 9AM-5:30pm

The short version

We run one of SoCal's fastest-growing meal prep brands. We need someone to do two things and do them well: create content that grows our Instagram and TikTok, and run outreach to local creators and customers who can amplify the brand.

That's the job. Content and outreach. In-person, hands-on, every week.

Who we are

My Healthy Penguin feeds hundreds of customers across Southern California every week. Police departments, colleges, corporate clients, and families. We cook real food in our own kitchen, run our own delivery fleet, and stock our own smart fridges.

We've built the operation. We need someone to build the audience.

What you'll actually do

Content creation

Shoot and edit short-form video for Instagram and TikTok. Weekly. Film in our kitchen, on delivery routes, at customer doorsteps, and at our smart fridge locations. Capture meals, people, and real moments in a way that makes people want to order. Post consistently and own the feed.

Outreach

Find and reach out to local SoCal creators and micro-influencers. Pitch partnerships, coordinate shoots, and manage deliverables. Build ongoing relationships with creators who fit the brand. Identify real customers worth featuring and coordinate their content.

Growth focus

Push weekly order deadlines, menu drops, and offers through content. Track what hits and what flops. Double down on what works.

Who We Want

You shoot and edit well.

Show us the work.

You're not shy. Outreach means DMs, emails, follow-ups, and real conversations with creators and customers. If cold outreach drains you, this isn't the role.

You understand how short-form actually works right now. Hooks, pacing, retention.

You can film real people without making it feel staged.

You move fast and don't need hand-holding.

You get that content is a growth lever, not an art project.

Who we don't want

Someone who only wants to post pretty food shots. Someone who wants to run social without picking up a camera. Someone who won't do outreach. Someone looking for remote.

What success looks like in 90 days

Consistent weekly content across IG and TikTok. 2 to 3 creator partnerships live or in motion. A real library of customer and founder content. At least one piece of content that clearly drove orders.

Why this is worth your time

You work directly with ownership. No layers, no corporate filter. Real creative input on how the brand looks and grows. You'll see the impact of your work in actual orders and revenue. Clear path to lead marketing as we scale.

How to apply

Send:

  1. Portfolio or links to recent work. IG, TikTok, reels, whatever shows the craft.
  2. A short note on why this is a fit.
  3. Two or three content ideas you'd actually shoot for My Healthy Penguin in your first month.

Skip the formal cover letter, please. Show us how you think and that you are right for this role.
