Automation Engineer

Full Time Technical Waterford, WI, US

Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

This position is with a leading Metals Manufacturing Company, employing industrial automation and methodology to improve effectiveness of manufacturing production and processes. As part of an Automation Team, you will be involved with design, development, programming, and installation of Automated Systems. These systems include robotics, PLC controls, material handling, inspection and system monitoring. This is an onsite position based in Waterford, Wisconsin.

Qualifications

  • Technical/Engineering degree or proven industrial experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience or any combination of education, training, and related work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Previous experience in an Automation/Controls/Maintenance position in a Manufacturing environmentis most desirable.

Seeking the following skills:

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming experience and HMI interface programming, preferably with Allen Bradley-Rockwell hardware and software
  • Familiarity with programming and installation of Robotic and related vision systems.
  • Ability to design, develop and wire electrical panels and equipment necessary to control automated systems.

Strong consideration to those with the following skills:

  • Familiarity with, but not limited to FANUC robotics and RoboGuide Software.
  • Knowledge of basic hydraulic and pneumatic concepts
  • Ability to create, troubleshoot and edit CNC machine Ladder Logic Programs
  • Ability to interface PLC systems with CNC machines using various interface protocols.
  • Ability to read and develop electrical prints, mechanical prints and operational procedures.

Essential Duties and Expectations

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accept direction in all phases of a project.
  • Ability to work in a Team environment with engineers, technicians and operators of varying degrees of experience and skills.
  • Expected to complete assignments and meet required deadlines.
  • Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase those necessary tools.
  • Meet all Safety guidelines as instructed by the company and comply with all PPE standards.
  • Requires overnight travel to satellite HyPro production facilities to install automated systems. (10%-30% annually dependent on the scope of project.)
