Pega QA Automation EngineerRole Overview

Techstra Solutions is seeking a skilled Pega QA Automation Engineer to join our technology team. This role will focus on testing, validating, and optimizing existing Pega-based applications that support critical banking operations and customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Pega application testing, automation framework development, API validation, and Agile QA processes within financial services environments.


Key ResponsibilitiesQA Testing & Automation
  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Pega applications
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Perform automation testing using tools such as Selenium, Pega Automated Testing, TestNG, JUnit, or similar frameworks
  • Validate Pega workflows, case management processes, decision rules, and integrations
  • Create and maintain test scripts for UI, API, and backend testing
  • Execute regression testing during application enhancements, releases, and production deployments
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution
Test Planning & Quality Assurance
  • Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test strategies and test plans
  • Develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation activities
  • Ensure applications meet banking regulatory and compliance standards
  • Perform integration testing across APIs, databases, and third-party systems
  • Validate data integrity and perform backend testing using SQL queries

Required Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Automation Testing
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience testing Pega applications (Pega 7.x/8.x)
  • Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks
  • Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect management processes
  • Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Pega Automation Testing, Cypress, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI
  • Familiarity with SQL and database validation testing
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment testing
  • Experience testing integrations, web services, and REST/SOAP APIs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within retail banking or commercial banking environments
  • Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements (FDIC, OCC, Federal Reserve)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Loan origination and servicing systems
    • Account opening and customer onboarding
    • Payment processing and treasury services
    • KYC and AML processes
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, or Zephyr
  • Pega Certified System Architect (PCSA) or Pega QA-related certifications preferred
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools
  • Knowledge of DevOps and test automation within CI/CD environments
  • Familiarity with banking platforms such as FIS, Fiserv, or Jack Henry
