Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
This part-time position provides course-specific peer tutoring for students while assisting students in improving academic achievement through academic support strategies. Additional tasks include providing course support and study group sessions and integrating effective learning and study strategies and applying principles and practices of supplemental instruction support.
Responsibilities

• Conducts face-to-face, online, and peer one-on-one and group tutoring sessions
• Provides supplemental instruction support
• Attend class sessions for Co-requisite Math or English to assist students who utilize the centers
• Communicate effectively with faculty and Academic Support Services on classroom visits
• Assists students with specific course-related concepts and problems
• Facilitates development of effective, related study skills
• Consults with faculty for course resources, guidance, and direction
• Provides course-related support resources such as handouts, worksheets, or additional learning activities
• Conducts announcements to promote Academic Support Services
• Participates in trainings and regularly scheduled meetings with faculty and supervisor
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Works no more than 19 hours a week

Required Qualifications

• Must be a current Albany State student enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours
• Overall 3.0 GPA, minimum final grade of A in tutoring course selection
• Exception to accept B+, with process and justification and documentation is needed

• Knowledge of elated subject-matter content, principles, and peer tutoring strategies
• Knowledge of research formats, classroom practices, teaching methodologies, and educational technology
• Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
• Skill in timely decision-making and problem-solving
• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
• Skill in oral and written communication
