Based in Carrollton, TX. OR Norcross, GA.

Three days onsite / Two days remote

Job Purpose
 

The Business Development Representative is an entry-to-mid-level sales professional responsible for generating qualified leads, initiating contact with prospective customers, and supporting the commercial pipeline development efforts of the sales team. This position is ideal for individuals with some sales or customer-facing experience who are looking to grow in a technical, consultative sales environment. The role requires both outbound engagement and collaboration with internal teams to build market knowledge and sales readiness. The position can be based in either Carrollton, TX or Norcross, GA, with a hybrid schedule of three days onsite and three days remote. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively reach out to potential customers via outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule introductory meetings for the sales team.
  • Research target industries, companies, and buyer personas to guide prospecting efforts.
  • Support pipeline development by identifying and tracking market trends.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging and support campaigns.
  • Understand and communicate the basic value proposition of Enersys solutions across target sectors.
  • Assist with identification and prioritization of accounts for outreach in coordination with Regional Sales Managers.
  • Track outreach KPIs and prepare activity summaries for weekly or monthly reporting.
  • Continuously build knowledge of Enersys offerings, including batteries, power systems, and energy storage.
  • Participate in peer learning and onboarding support for future new hires as experience grows.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or related business function
  • Familiarity with B2B communication and lead qualification processes

Language & Communication

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Math & Reasoning

  • Basic math and data tracking
  • Ability to qualify leads and make judgment calls based on prospect feedback

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
  • Familiarity with SalesLoft or similar sales engagement platforms

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and meet performance goals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

PREFERRED INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE 

  • Experience or interest in logistics, manufacturing, telecommunications, or industrial power systems is helpful.
  • Awareness of concepts like UPS systems, motive power, or lithium-ion energy solutions is a plus.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Occasional travel for training, trade shows, or team meetings.
