Job description

OVERVIEW: This position provides professional skilled nail services that enhance the appearance of hands and feet (manicures/pedicures) providing exceptional, upscale spa experience for guests booked by the Spa for the property ensuring standards are maintained providing a positive guest experience. Reports to the Spa Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides manicures and pedicures to guests including filing, buffing, trimming and polishing nails, manages cuticles, smoothing and moisturizing the skin on hands and feet, making for a neat, softer, healthy and attractive appearance
  • Ensures each shift that area is safe, sanitized and equipment is in good working order or reports issues to managers, disinfects equipment used during services and sweeps the floors in between guests, straightening and discarding out dated magazines, and dusting the area maintaining a clean and welcoming appearance at all times.
  • Sanitizes pedicure tubs after each use
  • Portions products for service and monitors product levels placing orders with management prior to running out
  • Provides Spa Kids Kamp services for campers
  • Offers guests products used during service for sale by the spa to increase revenue upselling retail items in nail salon
  • Stays current with industry trends and willing to learn new skills and take company sponsored classes
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding purchases of new product for use in the nail salon and suggests items for retail sale
  • Notifies management of unsafe or malfunctioning equipment immediately
  • Follows product and spa protocols
  • Makes guests comfortable, offering them a beverage ensuring a positive spa experience
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess ability to deliver exemplary customer service and develop relationships with guests
  • Possess the ability to be professional in appearance
  • Ability to be dependable, punctual and organized
  • Possess physical stamina to perform all aspects of this position to include standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, bending, twisting and lifting up to 40 lbs. for 8 hour shift
  • Ability to communicate with guests and members to determine their needs
  • Ability to work well with little supervision
  • Possess Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology Nail Technician issued License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience working in a nail salon preferably in a resort or busy nail salon
  • Retail sales experience a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends and holiday
