Job description

Job Details
ChristianaCare is seeking a Pediatric Radiologist to join our team as we expand pediatric services to support our Children's Hospital of Philadelphia affiliation.
This Pediatric Radiologist will provide high-quality, subspecialty diagnostic imaging services for pediatric patients across inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings. This role supports clinical excellence, patient safety, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the Pediatric Service Line.
Key Clinical Responsibilities
  • Interpret pediatric imaging studies including radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other age-appropriate modalities
  • Perform and supervise pediatric fluoroscopic procedures (e.g., VCUG, upper GI, contrast studies)
  • Provide timely, accurate interpretations with attention to pediatric-specific pathology and radiation safety principles (ALARA)
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend coverage as assigned
  • Communicate critical results directly to ordering clinicians in accordance with policy

Operational & Quality Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with technologists, nursing, ED, pediatrics, and surgery to optimize workflows
  • Support pediatric imaging protocol development and standardization
  • Participate in quality improvement, peer learning, and patient safety initiatives
  • Assist with escalation pathways and fallback coverage plans during operational disruptions

Education & Academic Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor radiology residents, fellows, medical students, and allied health staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric conferences and tumor boards as appropriate
  • Support institutional education and academic mission

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with Pediatric Service Line leadership, ED Ops, and IT on service optimization
  • Partner with external pediatric radiology collaborators as applicable
  • Support strategic growth of pediatric imaging services within the health system

Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Radiology
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology required
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Delaware and PA
  • Eligible for hospital privileges
  • Experience in a community-based pediatric practice with academic engagement (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach (preferred)
  • Comfort with on-site clinical presence and hands-on procedural work (preferred)

Annual Compensation Range $463,752.00 - $653,286.00
The above compensation range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting for full-time hours in the respective specialty. The actual compensation within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation the fair market value for physician services in the relevant specialty and the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, credentials, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. The compensation range listed may encompass various forms of applicable compensation for this position, including, but not limited to, productivity incentives, value-based incentives and other ancillary forms of compensation dependent upon operational factors such as hours worked, call coverage and other factors. ChristianaCare will offer compensation at an appropriate point within the above range or, less frequently, may offer a level of compensation outside the listed range as warranted by the circumstances.
