Job description

The Department of Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) at Texas Tech University invites applicants to apply for the part-time, Clinical Associate for Pediatric Behavioral Health, position. The anticipated start date is August 30, 2026. We welcome all applicants with demonstrated effectiveness as associate-level behavioral health clinicians, who possess clinical experience in relational-systemic intervention.
This is a part-time staff position (up to 30 hrs/week) for providing behavioral health screening, psychoeducation, and brief intervention services for addressing the behavioral health needs of pediatric patients and their families at the University Medical Center Children's hospital. This position was designed for the purpose of behavioral health service expansion across multiple units in the hospital (i.e., Pediatric ICU, Pediatrics, Neonatal ICU, Family Care Unit), as part of a larger Integrated Behavioral Health Initiative.
The ideal candidate is versed in a bio-psycho-social-spiritual (BPSS) framework of behavioral healthcare and has received graduate-level coursework and/or continuing education related to trauma-informed care, chronic illness, grief and loss, and brief/solution-focused approaches. Experience with the delivery of individual and family therapy with a pediatric population is preferred, including face-to-face and tele-delivery formats.
