Position Summary:

Transportation is a key growth market for PEC. We are seeking an industry-recognized leader who understands the complexities of today's transportation environment and can help position PEC for continued success with state DOTs, and transportation agencies.

 

This opportunity is well suited for a professional who has built a strong network within the transportation industry and is motivated by expanding market presence, creating strategic partnerships, and helping clients navigate the future of transportation infrastructure. From major highway and bridge investments to emerging mobility and infrastructure initiatives, this role offers the opportunity to influence how transportation projects are delivered across the communities we serve.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver PEC’s purpose and vision to our clients and staff
  • Manage, mentor, and lead Project Managers within assigned Market(s)
  • Mentor and lead Project Managers whose positions reside outside assigned Market(s)
  • Lead and oversee opportunity identification, Go/No-Go decisions, opportunity pursuit, proposals, and contracts within assigned Market(s)
  • Lead and oversee contract negotiation, contact execution, and contract enrollment projects within assigned Market(s)
  • Lead and oversee Client Service Managers as assigned
  • Develop, implement, and manage Market-specific strategic plans that support the firm’s overall company strategic plan
  • Deliver Market revenue and profit goals in accordance with established budgets
  • Manage and oversee the profit and loss of assigned Market(s)
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and analysis to keep executive management informed of contingent liabilities, contract expense, capture of premium, and risk
  • Develop trusting relationships with Clients and their key decision makers
  • Conduct debrief meetings with Owners, Owner's Representatives, Architects, Engineers, etc. to formulate lessons learned and best practices
  • Represent the Company at functions and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders
  • Supervise, coach, and develop key members of the Strategy division, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team is equipped to meet the organization's strategic goals
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Extensive experience reading and analyzing RFP requirements; ability to effectively identify and develop proposal strategies, themes, storyboards, discriminators.
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to adjust for industry trends, market swings, and competitor activities
  • Demonstrated success in developing a broad range of client relationships
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to grow revenues and pipeline year over year through extensions of current work and net-new business.
  • Experience managing proposal and presentation development
  • Strong Client interviewing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Effective interaction, both professionally and socially, with people of all levels
  • Ability to travel as needed

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the AE consulting industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required
  • Proven track record/ history of multi-million-dollar annual sales development or project management required

License and Certification:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required

Duties involved require moving materials that weigh up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines. At times, bending, reaching, standing, and walking may be required.
