Description & Requirements
The Private Equity Value Creation team accelerates operational and financial performance across portfolio companies through targeted, execution-focused transformation. From optimizing accounting processes to enhancing the use of financial systems and data, the team helps companies scale efficiently and unlock measurable value. By combining deep finance operations expertise with technology-enabled solutions and hands-on implementation, the group improves cash flow, strengthens controls, and drives sustainable profitability-delivering results aligned to each fund's value-creation thesis.
What You Will Do:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of value-creation initiatives for private equity clients, overseeing multiple workstreams and ensuring high-quality, measurable outcomes.
  • Translate investment thesis and value-creation goals into comprehensive transformation roadmaps across finance, accounting, and operational processes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities across P2P, O2C, and C2R/R2R workflows while guiding teams on technology-enabled enhancements and scalable solutions.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to PE operating partners and portfolio company executives, facilitating alignment, decision-making, and progress toward value-creation targets.
  • Direct advanced financial and operational diagnostics, including KPI design, modeling, workflow analysis, and quantification of improvement levers.
  • Oversee evaluations and optimizations of financial systems to enhance automation, controls, and data integrity.
  • Review and approve deliverables, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards and client objectives.
  • Guide improvements to month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring portfolio companies deliver board-ready and lender-ready outputs.
  • Lead business development by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, developing proposals, and supporting growth within the practice
  • Provide leadership and coaching to project teams, supporting skill development, performance management, and a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Manage engagement economics, resourcing, delivery risk, and overall engagement quality to ensure operational excellence.
  • Contribute to practice growth by enhancing methodologies, tools, delivery frameworks, and the overall PE Value Creation offering

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in finance, value creation, operational improvement, accounting, or related areas
  • Experience working with private equity clients or within a private equity value creation or portfolio operations environment
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-workstream transformation initiatives that deliver tangible operational and financial improvements.
  • Experience in business development, including identifying opportunities, building and maintaining senior client relationships, and contributing to proposal development and practice growth

Illinois Wage Transparency
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
