What is a PDM?

PDM stands for Product Data Manager or Product Development Manager, depending on the industry context. A PDM typically oversees the management, development, and organization of product data or the entire product development process within a company. Their responsibilities may include coordinating with engineering, marketing, and design teams, ensuring products meet quality standards, and managing product lifecycle documentation. PDMs play a crucial role in ensuring that products are delivered on time and meet customer requirements. This role is essential for companies aiming to streamline product workflows and maintain accurate product information.
