Overview

In this position, you’ll play a vital role in the installation and support of solar panel systems while contributing to various construction, mechanical, and industrial projects across diverse industries. From solar energy to power plants, manufacturing, oil and gas, wind energy, and more, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a wide range of exciting fields. Your mechanical knowledge and skills will be essential as you help bring these projects to life.

This position requires a solid understanding of industrial construction and mechanical practices, and you'll be working closely with the team to become proficient with the products and services that Beitzel Corporation provides. Responsibilities

  • Install mechanical and electrical components of a solar energy system
  • Learn to safely work around the electrical wiring of solar array/systems (AC and DC)
  • Run conduit and cables from solar panels to combiner boxes
  • Assist with the layout and construct solar modules/arrays and mounting hardware
  • Mount mechanical and structural racking, modules, and electrical equipment
  • Provide general labor for various construction, industrial and mechanical projects
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements as required

Working Conditions

  • Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Can complete repetitive motion tasks daily such as bolt torquing, installing brackets, etc.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
  • Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments
  • Perform work at a variety of heights

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience for piles, racking, and/or mods preferred
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial capacity required
  • Preference given to candidates with previous leadership experience in mechanical solar site construction
  • Possesses a mechanical aptitude with prior experience in solar commercial/industrial mechanical fields required, prior experience leading small crews in the installation of solar piles, racking, and/or mods preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Preference given to candidates with previous experience operating Pile Driving Equipment such as a PD-10 or equivalent
  • Experience using basic hand tools
