Junior and Sr. Level Opportunities

Job Title: Electronics Engineer / PCB Designer

Job Description

This role focuses on the end-to-end design, simulation, layout, and testing of complex printed circuit boards for high-reliability applications. The Electronics Engineer / PCB Designer leads high-speed digital circuit design, ensures compliance with stringent industry standards, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to integrate board-level electronics into advanced systems, particularly in aerospace, space, satellite, defense, and other high-reliability sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PCB electrical design activities from concept to production, including schematic development, component selection, and layout guidance for complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards.
  • Own the design of high-speed digital circuits, including processors, memory systems, and high-bandwidth communication interfaces for demanding applications.
  • Perform detailed PCB layout planning and review, including controlled-impedance routing, differential pair tuning, stack-up planning, and power-distribution design to meet electrical and mechanical requirements.
  • Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to validate design performance and ensure reliable operation of high-speed circuits.
  • Develop resilient electronic architectures that incorporate redundancy, watchdogs, fail-safe circuitry, and robust memory subsystems to support high-reliability systems.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of board-level electronics into larger systems and platforms.
  • Perform design verification and validation activities, including board bring-up, functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), test procedures, analysis reports, and design review materials.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) input and resolve issues related to fabrication, assembly, or testing of PCBs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards such as IPC, IEEE, and MIL-STD, as well as internal quality processes and guidelines.
  • Lead technical design reviews, present design decisions and trade-offs, and drive continuous improvement in PCB design practices.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers by sharing best practices in PCB design, high-speed digital design, and high-reliability electronics engineering.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3+ for the Junior Role and 7+ years for the Sr. role. of experience in high-performance PCB design for complex, multi-layer boards.
  • Strong proficiency in PCB design using Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience designing high-speed digital circuits, including processors, memory systems, and high-bandwidth communication interfaces.
  • Proven experience with high-reliability designs, preferably in aerospace, space, satellite, defense, or other high-reliability sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with IPC Class 3 or equivalent high-reliability PCB design standards.
  • Familiarity with advanced PCB manufacturing techniques such as blind vias and microvias.
