To thrive as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you need a basic understanding of personal care, hygiene assistance, and sometimes a high school diploma or relevant certification, depending on state requirements. Familiarity with patient care documentation tools and, in some cases, training in CPR or first aid are typically expected.
