Overview
Full time 36 hours/week | 7:00am - 7:00pm, variable days of the week
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.
Qualifications
Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Necessary Skills:
1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
2. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
3. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
-Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
-Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
