They play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients during their hospital stay. PCAs also assist with transporting patients and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Their work helps improve the overall quality of care in a hospital setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PCA in a hospital?

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs), mobility aids, and standard hospital equipment is typically required. Compassion, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills help PCAs effectively support patients and collaborate with healthcare teams. These abilities are crucial for ensuring patient comfort, safety, and efficient care delivery in a demanding clinical environment.
