Job description

Tuvli is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed and experienced individual to fill the role of a PC Configuration Specialist for our existing government client in Alexandria, VA. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
The PC Configuration Specialist will be responsible for assembly, test and optimization based of customer requirements. The PC Configuration Specialist must be familiar and able to install core components such as RAM, storage drives, and GPU. The PC Configuration Specialist will also be responsible for the installation and configuration of operating systems, drivers and required software applications. The PC Configuration Specialist will be responsible for Quality Assurance check and conduct thorough testing of the workstation to ensure reliability and functionality prior to deployment. Assist in procurement, distribution, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and related technology.
Responsibilities
  • Track and manage the lifecycle of IT assets, from initial purchase to disposal.
  • Maintain, and track accurate inventory of all technology assets.
  • Ensure the correct hardware and operating systems are delivered to the customer based on request.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), and SharePoint.
  • Communicate with overseas field personnel to identify and confirm client needs.
  • Perform PC Builds in coordination with build procedures.
  • Physically, move, lift and un-box/re-box desktop PC's and install the pre-configured image using Microsoft System Center or Microsoft Deployment Tool Kit, then finalize the installation by updating computer settings.
  • Install PC hardware as required such as video cards, network interface cards, RAM and other components as required by the customer.
  • Utilize Active Directory to manage computer and user accounts.
  • Set up Windows BIOS and registration settings according to workstation type.
  • Set static IP addresses, subnets, and gateways.
  • Update various third-party software configuration files, as necessary.
  • Maintain, track, and implement inventory
  • Track the issuance of equipment for support staff.
  • Utilize ticketing for Workorder submission and tracking.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A degree in the field of computer science or other IT related discipline is preferred.
  • Preferred one of the following certificates: CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+
  • Must have a strong knowledge of hardware components such as CPU's, GPU's, motherboards, and RAM.
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot various Windows Operating Systems.
  • Ability to run diagnostic test to ensure system reliability.
  • Must have a valid driver's license/Real ID.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
  • DoD Interim Secret Clearance is required
  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Candidate must reside within 50 miles radius of the Nation Capital Region/ Washington DC.
