You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a global team on standard measurement platforms and processes.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure proper GD&T application and design intent is fully captured
  • Support Engineering New Product Development in Metrology through sample measurements, measurement evaluation feedback, reverse engineering and early supplier measurement capability evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams reviewing conformance to specifications, suppliers' measurement risks and leads technical dimensional measurement planning.
  • Document, and edit programs utilized in metrology labs such as CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS, etc. and serves as technical expert for metrology inspection.
  • Develop turnkey inspection strategies to meet business needs for the corporation.
  • Develop and design holding fixtures and gages to ensure minimum measurement error during inspection.
  • Use statistics to analyze measurements standards and processes to provide accurate and repeatable measurement strategies. Experience running R&R studies and troubleshooting poor results. Minitab or excel are preferred.
  • Interprets drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 to identify product inspection requirements.
  • Create and sustain professional, cross functional relationships throughout all businesses in Milwaukee Tool.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • CAD experience such as NX, SolidWorks or other.
  • Associate degree or higher related to engineering, design, or manufacturing
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in new product design or manufacturing of mechanical components with a working knowledge of measurement systems that ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Or 5 minimum experience conducting measurements, programming inspections, gage & fixture design and reading engineering drawings.
  • Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 - 3 years minimum
  • Able to react to change effectively in a team setting and handle multiple tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and orally, with engineering teams, management and external suppliers
  • Experience with a multitude of measurement equipment such as CMMs, Vision systems, 3D scanning, hand gages and open layout techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
