Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing preliminary inspection of all articles that are maintained.
  • Inspecting all articles that have been involved in an accident for hidden damage after maintenance or alteration is performed.
  • Performing final inspection and return to service of maintained articles.
  • Experience with CMM operation and/or programming using PC-DMIS is a plus
  • Familiarity with OEM Turbine component repair manuals is also a plus.
  • Performing Incoming inspection of contracted maintenance
  • Ensuring article is listed on a current capability list
  • Taking corrective action on deficiencies
  • Ensuring maintenance personnel follow the quality control system when performing maintenance
  • Ensuring all test and inspection equipment and tools used to make airworthiness determinations on articles are calibrated
  • Ensuring maintenance or alteration is performed in accordance with the applicable approved technical data or data acceptable to the FAA.
  • Ensuring technical data used for maintaining articles is appropriate and current.
  • Inspection includes visual and dimensional using required gaging and measuring equipment
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to understand customer specifications
  • Ensure that all parts being inspected meet customer criteria for an acceptable part
  • If a part is defective or needs re-work, Inspector must complete required paperwork associated with this task
  • Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace industry or general manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints or technical procedures
  • Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools
  • A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
  • Thoroughly familiar with the applicable 14CFR 145 regulations and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.
  • Understand, read, and write English.
  • Team player with the skills to work with people at all levels in a fast paced and demanding environment.
