Position Overview

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations that focus on personal histories, presenting psychological concerns, and potential risk factors inherent in the detox process.
• Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, aiming to address specific mental health challenges, and enhance emotional well-being as they navigate through detox.
• Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed methods, to support the mental health of clients.
• Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to foster growth, emotional stability, and healthy coping mechanisms during the detox period.
• Coordinate care with a team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and counselors, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client treatment.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during acute mental health emergencies, applying de-escalation techniques and facilitating referrals to higher levels of care when required.
• Deliver psychoeducation to clients and their families, enabling them to understand mental health issues and available resources for ongoing support.
• Maintain meticulous and legally compliant documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, reflecting all interactions and interventions.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities to foster knowledge sharing and enhance collaborative efforts.
• Stay abreast of the latest legislation and ethical guidelines governing mental health practices within detox and correctional settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals experiencing substance use challenges who are entering detoxification. The clientele represents a diverse demographic, often facing complex psychological issues that accompany substance dependence. Your expertise will directly contribute to promoting recovery and resiliency among this vulnerable population, facilitating their ability to achieve mental stability and plan for reintegration into their communities.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Currently valid LICSW licensure in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health, preferably within a correctional or detox environment.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and principles of trauma-informed care.
• Proficiency in conducting detailed mental health assessments and formulating effective treatment strategies.
• Experience delivering individual and group therapeutic sessions using various therapeutic approaches.
• Exceptional crisis intervention abilities, with a calm and collected demeanor in high-pressure situations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build trust with clients from varying backgrounds and circumstances.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a detox or addiction treatment setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management.
• Knowledge of community resources and support systems for individuals recovering from substance use disorders.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
