Job description

Join us in becoming the premier die casting manufacturer and engineering solutions supplier worldwide.
Summary
Assures that products, tooling and processes produced at Orion Casting are in compliance to customer and internal requirements and specifications. Works effectively with engineers, inspectors, supervisors and production associates to resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives and promote quality principles. Heavy emphasis will be placed on program development, validation, first article part layout and CMM inspection to qualify new or revised tooling and/or parts.
Work is project-oriented, and you may be working on a number of projects at any given time. Work will be performed with minimal supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(but not limited to...)
  • Write programs from Customer Prints and Models that allow for completing quality checks on CMM equipment for given part numbers. This duty is performed daily.
  • Performance maintenance and qualification on equipment stylists. This duty is performed daily.
  • Trouble-shoot programs as necessary to ensure accuracy of part testing. This duty is performed daily.
  • Analyze data and provide assessments on specific issues with parts to Engineers, as necessary. This duty is performed daily.
  • Conduct Capability Studies on new products as part of the PPAP process. This duty is performed as needed.
  • Calibrate gauges as applicable (Micrometer, Go/NoGo). This duty is performed as needed.
  • Effectively communicate capability concerns with Process and Product Engineers. This duty is performed daily.
  • Effectively communicate with customers concerning various quality and capability concerns with their product, as applicable. This duty is performed as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in programming all software. (PC-DMIS, Zeiss, Renishaw). This duty is performed daily.
  • Maintain good working relationship w/ Engineers and Managers. This duty is performed daily.
  • Must follow all EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and Quality policies and procedures as set forth by the Orion Casting management systems as well as Federal and State regulations. This duty is performed daily.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 19 to 23 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
