Job description

Payroll Specialist | Hybrid | Denver Metro

I’m working with a well-established organization that is looking to add an experienced Payroll Specialist to its growing payroll team.

This is a great opportunity for someone coming from a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment who enjoys digging into payroll details, resolving discrepancies, and working with large amounts of data.

  • Pay: Up to $33/hour
  • Location: Denver Metro
  • Schedule: Hybrid - increased onsite presence during training, then 3 days remote per week

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Process high-volume, multi-state payroll for a large employee population.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other payroll matters.
  • Manage payroll data imports, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Work extensively in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and large data sets.
  • Support payroll audits and maintain accurate payroll documentation.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll issues and meet processing deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and support payroll compliance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with UKG/UltiPro is highly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
  • Experience with ADP or another major payroll platform is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger payroll team.

If you have a strong payroll background and are interested in hearing more, I’d love to connect.
