Job Description:

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Work with the checkout and identity engineering and the product and instrumentation teams to gather the instrumentation requirements for all customer interaction on all ModXO flows, (including Post Purchase, ECS, and User Growth) on PayPal's internal data platform First Party Tracking Identification (FPTI). Validate the instrumented data tags and the latency values. Build and automate the code flows for latency datasets to incorporate Quantum Leap ModXO data. Finalize the reporting format. Create Latency Dashboard views, the executive summary, and perform deep-dive views for ModXO. Perform deep-dive analysis to find latency drivers. Work with the team to build and automate the code flows to incorporate this data in checkout SSOT (PayPal's internal single source of truth for checkout conversion metric). Work with the Business Intelligence team to automate the finalized views. Perform deep-dive analysis to find and identify product gaps and opportunities to improve the new features launched. Work closely with the product and engineering teams to understand the requirements of each of the new product features and KPIs. Work with the engineering team to instrument the new events and tags, so that PayPal can get the required data to flow to the end tables. Ensure all data points, events, and tags needed for reporting are clearly defined and documented. Map the finalized events and tags to specific data fields in the end tables, aligning with the schema. Collaborate with the engineering team to communicate the requirements and data mapping to the engineering team, ensuring they understand the objectives. Design event tracking by defining the structure and parameters of the events and tags that need to be instrumented, including naming conventions and data types. Test the data capture by conducting tests to verify that the events and tags are being correctly captured and transmitted through the data pipelines. Generate use cases to test the new features implemented. Work with PEAK (PayPal's data engineering team) to create the datasets that are customized for each of these projects. Develop reporting tools and dashboards to help with readouts. Measure, track, analyze, and share the results of each of the product features with the product team. Work to understand the root cause for lower conversion, perform customer funnel analysis to find the different stages at which customers drop off, and recommend the next steps to close the gap. Regularly track and monitor KPIs to ensure the health of the business. Perform deep-dive analysis to identify the reasons for the degradation, insights, and recommendations to improve checkout customer experience and performance. Ensure the successful cross-functional implementation of anomaly detection for conversion rate, starts, transactions, and revenue. Work on initiatives for Intelligence Alerting. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus seven years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | $275,850.00-333,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additionalcompensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
