The Product Development Manager is a key enabler of Norsk Titanium's commercial and operational success, supporting the Commercial team in winning business through a rigorous and responsive quoting process and supporting product development efforts across all functions to ensure profitability. This role is responsible for developing accurate part-level cost models, coordinating with Cost Accounting to ensure fully-burdened cost visibility, and producing pricing recommendations that reflect both competitive market positioning and target profitability thresholds.

The analyst ensures that every opportunity and existing effort is evaluated for strategic fit with Norsk Titanium's RPD® strategic roadmap and long-term program profitability, serving as the analytical backbone of the Product Management team's support to commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with engineering and operations, leads the evaluation of both new and existing business against company priorities, including target markets, profitability objectives, capacity strategy, technology roadmap, and long-term customer portfolio
  • Leads the development of part-level cost and pricing models for new and re-quoted opportunities, incorporating material, labor, post-processing, tooling, and overhead
  • Partners with Cost Accounting to ensure margin targets, cost assumptions, and risk factors are clearly documented and reviewed prior to submission. Maintains and continuously refines standard cost assumptions, ensuring cost models reflect current material prices, labor rates, machine utilization, and scrap factors
  • Serves as the primary coordination point between Commercial Product Management, Commercial, and Cost Accounting teams, ensuring that cost inputs used in quotes are current, validated, and reconciled against actual production data on an ongoing basis
  • Tracks and reports on the active quote pipeline, win/loss rates, and margin performance by program, providing regular updates to the VP of Commercial Product Management to support commercial planning and forecasting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline with strong quantitative focus. Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments is highly valued
  • 3-7 years of experience in pricing, cost estimating, or financial analysis within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing. Direct experience working with or alongside Cost-Accounting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain detailed cost models incorporating direct materials, direct labor, burden rates, and margin structures. Familiarity with should-cost analysis, cost-to-win modeling or price-to-win (PTW) methodologies is a strong plus
  • 5-7 years' experience supporting a commercial or business development team in a quoting, pricing, or product management capacity, with an understanding of how RFQ responses translate into customer commitments and program economics
  • Working knowledge of aerospace or defense manufacturing cost drivers, including raw material markets, machining and post-processing costs, and the economics of low-rate versus high-rate production, sufficient to build credible bottoms-up cost estimates
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for financial modelling is required. Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with cost accounting modules preferred
  • Proficiency with business productivity and analytics tools including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word) and CRM or quoting management platforms. Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous

Additional Requirements

  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate cost data and pricing rationale into clear, decision-ready summaries for both commercial leadership and finance stakeholders
  • Self-directed and highly organized, comfortable managing a concurrent quoting pipeline across multiple customer accounts with competing deadlines and varying levels of complexity
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively across internal and serve as a reliable bridge between business development and financial planning teams
  • U.S. Person status required due to access to exportcontrolled technical data (ITAR)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with reasonable accommodations available
