Job description

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for a contract position with a major healthcare company in Eagan, MN. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. This is a hybrid position.
Compensation: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support API and integration-focused initiatives within a large healthcare environment. This individual will work closely with engineering, architecture, business analysis, and product teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of APIs and the systems they connect. The ideal candidate is a true Quality Engineer who can perform both hands-on functional testing and automated testing, with strong API knowledge and software development/coding capabilities. Healthcare and FHIR experience are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze API requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive testing strategies
  • Design, document, and execute API test scenarios and test cases
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and automated testing of APIs and interconnected systems
  • Validate data integrity and data movement across systems and interfaces
  • Validate REST API functionality, including JSON/XML payloads, HTTP methods, status codes, request/response behavior, and authentication mechanisms
  • Develop and maintain automated tests using tools and frameworks such as Karate, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and BDD frameworks
  • Develop testing solutions and automation using Java and JavaScript
  • Participate in SIT, UAT, and production validation activities
  • Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Perform API validation using Postman, Swagger, and OpenAPI specifications
  • Work within environments leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker containers
  • Utilize monitoring and logging tools to troubleshoot issues and validate application behavior
  • Manage test cases, defects, and testing activities using Jira and QMetry
  • Support test-data management and ensure appropriate test coverage across applications and integrations
  • Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, architects, and other Quality Engineers throughout the SDLC

Primary Requirements:
  • Senior-level Quality Engineering experience in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, HTTP methods, status codes, and API authentication mechanisms
  • Strong hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, and OpenAPI
  • Strong test automation experience with frameworks such as Karate or REST Assured, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and BDD
  • Strong coding experience with Java and JavaScript
  • Experience integrating automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to perform both functional/manual and automated testing
  • Experience validating data integrity across interconnected applications and systems
  • Experience with AWS and knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker containers
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
  • Experience with test-management tools such as Jira
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and production validation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
