Job description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for making new product for all markets (pre-sell, pre market, and post-market) from blue prints or knock off other frame styles.

Position Details:

  • Works with all other stages of PD to gather information and to engineer frames to be as cost efficient and still maintain high quality
  • Attend all PD meetings as required
  • Must be able to draw frames in Auto CAD, computer software.
  • Take acquired information and proceed to make mock up frames for Upholstery PD.
  • Get frame approval, then proceed to make all patterns as near to perfect as possible.
  • Build market samples and pattern frame for frame plant patterns.
  • Make all necessary changes to patterns that are needed to maintain quality.
  • Make all parts as simple as possible for production efficiency
  • Must be a team player and collaborate with other's ideas while also providing necessary training
  • Make master parts list for Production Coordinator
  • Make route sheets for each new part as accurately as possible.
  • Work with Production Managers to help provide sufficient information as to how and why certain parts are made the way they are, and take out any operations possible
  • Work with all plants to make frames as easy to upholster as possible
  • Work hours required to give Upholstery PD Department enough time to get all product ready to show
  • Be able to visualize what a frame should look like and proceed with the possibility of trial and error
  • Work Safely at all times, wearing all required PPE, and report any unsafe conditions or practices to management

Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Auto CAD computer software a plus
  • Must be able to travel between plants as needed
