Position Overview:

Job Purpose:

The Prototype Cutter supports all CG product development facilities by accurately cutting prototypes and supporting fabric inventory upkeep for CGT Sample Room & NPI. This role works closely with Marker Making, Technical Design, Product Development, Grading, and Sample Sewing teams through digital platforms (MS Teams, Outlook) and inperson collaboration. The Prototype Cutter is also responsible for maintaining all cutting equipment, including the Single Ply Auto Cutter.

What You'll Do:

Prototype Cutting

  • Cut prototypes using the Single Ply Auto Cutter; perform manual or rotary cutting when required and all cutting-related activities
  • Full understanding of the BOM and fabric/pattern allocation
  • Administer cut files and communicate with the TD/MM team to clarify or resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with Marker Making on markerrelated challenges and support resolutions.
  • Inspect fabrics during layup and provide feedback on quality concerns.
  • Optimize material usage and minimize waste.

Raw Material Inventory Management

  • Maintain and replenish raw material inventory for CGT and CGW Sample Rooms.
  • Uphold tidy, clearly labeled fabric storage systems
  • Flag potential fabric shortages.
  • Update inventory tracking system/documents regularly.
  • Conduct quarterly physical inventory counts

Collaboration

  • Work with the Sample Room and NPI Sr. Supervisor to maintain the Prototype Creation Tracker.
  • Report material discrepancies such as yardage issues, hand feel, shading, fraying, or spreading problems to Development Technology Team.
  • Communicate daily regarding fabrics, markers, plotting, and BOMrelated issues.
  • Coordinate with the Grading team on plotting and replotting needs.
  • Communicate patternrelated issues with Technical Designers.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Set up the Single Ply Auto Cutter according to fabric weight (pressure, speed, notch tools).
  • Perform routine maintenance and coordinate repairs with in-house mechanic.
  • Maintain other cutting, spreading, and storage equipment.
  • Monitor and communicate reordering of Auto Cutter support materials.
  • Complete daily maintenance tasks

Let's About You:

  • Knowledge of pattern pieces, notches, and drill holes.
  • Experience with different types of fabric to recognize the right side and thread direction.
  • Capable of working with scissors and vertical knife cutter.
  • Attention to details, good understanding of numbers, strong communication and computer skills, included proficiency in Microsoft Office essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Required to read a Tech Pack.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.

Hourly Range:
