 Job Summary
ComForCare Home Care Halton is seeking a compassionate and dependable Italian-speaking PSW/Caregiver to support a male senior in his home. The caregiver will provide personal care, companionship, meal assistance, and light housekeeping according to the client’s established care plan.
The ideal candidate is patient, respectful, attentive, and committed to helping seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care and Mobility Support

  •  Assist with personal care, toileting, and incontinence care 
  •  Support safe mobility and transfers 
  •  Assist with mobility equipment such as a wheelchair, walker, crutches, or cane 
  •  Provide meal preparation and mealtime assistance 
  •  Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or care needs 
Companionship and Family Support

  •  Provide meaningful companionship and social interaction 
  •  Offer supervision and reassurance 
  •  Provide respite support for family members 
  •  Encourage the client’s independence and participation in daily activities 
Light Housekeeping

  •  Vacuum, dust, sweep, and mop floors 
  •  Wash dishes and maintain a clean kitchen area 
  •  Change bed linens and complete laundry 
  •  Clean the client’s bathroom 
  •  Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and organized home environment 
Medication Assistance

  •  Provide reminders and assistance with medications the client self-administers, in accordance with the care plan and company policies 
Qualifications
  •  Ability to communicate in Italian is required 
  •  Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the position 
  •  High school diploma or equivalent 
  •  Completion of a provincially recognized Personal Support Worker, Certified Nurse Aide, Health Care Aide, or equivalent program is an asset 
  •  Must meet the required standard on the PSW skills assessment 
  •  Must meet the required standard on the DEARS Drugs and Ethics assessment 
  •  Valid driver’s licence and access to an insured vehicle, or reliable transportation to the client’s home 
  •  Previous experience supporting seniors is preferred
