Job description

Overview
We are seeking a Patient Service Representative, sometimes referred to as a Hospital Admission Representative. The Patient Service Representative collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information while ensuring eligibility, benefits, and authorizations are accurately obtained. The Patient Service Representative collaborates closely with the Admitting team and communicates effectively with patients across all age groups.

Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: Providence Medical Center, Cardiology Clinic, Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • Interview patients or authorized representatives to gather accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and required authorizations
  • Enter and retrieve patient data using computerized systems
  • Communicate clearly with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all life stages
  • Support Admitting department operations, including reception, PBX functions, and special assignments

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
4. Customer Service experience preferred.
