Location: Greater Boston, MA (Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite/week)

Salary Range: $120-160k based on experience 

About the Role

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Patient Safety & Risk Manager to join its Quality and Patient Safety team. This role is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risk across outpatient, network, and inpatient settings. The Risk Manager promotes high-quality patient care, ensures regulatory compliance, and mitigates malpractice risk through loss prevention. This is true day-to-day clinical risk management and patient safety work, with a strong focus on case-based investigations.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyze incident reports, claims, and data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and update risk management policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Review patient-safety event reports, lead investigations into adverse events and near misses, and develop corrective action plans
  • Design and deliver training programs to promote a culture of safety
  • Support regulatory and accreditation readiness, including survey preparation and required reporting
  • Collaborate with clinical, legal, and administrative teams on risk and safety issues

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field required; Master's preferred
  • 5 years of experience in patient safety, quality, compliance, or related field
  • Prior experience in ANY clinical role (e.g., RN, CMA, RT, PT, NP, PA, PharmD) required
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in ambiguity

Preferred

  • Healthcare risk management experience
  • Acute care setting experience
  • Certification in risk management (CPHRM) or Patient Safety/Quality (CPPS, CPHQ)
