Job description

Patient Flow Manager

We are seeking a Patient Flow Manager to lead and support Patient Flow Coordinators and Patient Transport associates within a hospital environment. This role is ideal for a customer-focused leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring timely, efficient patient movement throughout the facility. As a key member of the support services leadership team, you will work closely with hospital departments to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient satisfaction, and ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Patient Flow Coordinators, Constant Observers, and Patient Transport associates
  • Oversee daily patient transportation operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient movement throughout the hospital
  • Monitor and support dispatch operations, workflow management, and staff productivity
  • Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and support departments to ensure transportation services meet operational needs
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hospital leadership and key stakeholders
  • Train, mentor, and onboard team members while promoting a culture of service excellence and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, and all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support departmental budgeting goals and assist with managing operational expenses
  • Analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to enhance service levels and efficiency
  • Foster a positive patient and guest experience through responsive, compassionate, and professional service
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a hospital, healthcare, patient transport, hospitality, or customer service environment preferred
  • Strong background in patient services, customer service, guest relations, or hospitality
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed operational decisions
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing frontline teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate Windows-based systems and software applications
