Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, and participation in the rehabilitation program.
Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing admission assessments and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide patient information and status for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity and safety of care.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
  • Contribute positively to the unit and participate in team-building activities.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
  • Engage in professional growth through education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
  • Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience highly desired.
