Associate Veterinarian

South Sioux Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

We are a privately owned veterinary practice, not corporate or private equity-driven. Our focus is on building long-term client relationships, providing high-quality medicine, and giving our veterinarians the professional autonomy and support they need to thrive.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including:

  • Digital radiography

  • Dental X-ray

  • Ultrasound

  • Full in-house laboratory (VetScan VS2; VetScan Opticell; Imagyst)

  • Phovia Light; Therapeutic Laser

  • Electronic medical records (AVImark)

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality medical care, diagnostics, and treatment for companion animals

  • Perform routine and complex medical examinations and develop treatment plans

  • Perform soft tissue surgery and dental procedures (orthopedic procedures based on experience)

  • Prescribe medications and recommend preventive care protocols

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care

  • Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes

  • Maintain accurate medical records within AVImark

  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented practice culture

  • Stay current on veterinary best practices and continuing education


Education & Licensure

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Nebraska (within 60-days of start date)
