Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.500000 | 20 hours per week | Part Time | Variable Hours/Variable Days
For this role, we will consider candidates at either the ED Patient Access Rep 1 or ED Patient Access Rep 2 levels. Requirements and wages for each level are noted below.
Starting Wage:
  • PAR1- $18.09-$24.88 per hour, depending on experience
  • PAR2-$19.27-$26.49 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary
The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative (PAR) provides customer-service coverage in emergency department locations of Asante and assumes the responsibility for the successful financial outcomes of all patient services. In this role, the ED Patient Access Rep is also responsible for thoroughly and accurately describing the various compliance and regulatory documents that Asante is required to present to patients, while always maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Asante's financial solvency.
Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, the Patient Access Rep performs imperative duties, including but not limited to:
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Registration and insurance verification
  • Telephone coverage and data entry
  • Filing protected health information (PHI)
  • Patient referrals and point-of-service collections

Qualifications
Required experience for the ED Patient Access Rep 1 level:
  • Previous patient registration experience - OR - related customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience.

Required experience for the ED Patient Access Rep 2 level:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with 2080 fulfilled hours in the Patient Access Rep level 1 role or equivalent.

Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management is preferred for both levels.
