Patient Access Representative

Location: Wallingford, CT (On-site)

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

A growing cardiology practice is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join its fast-paced call centre and patient services team. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, handling a high volume of inbound calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical office, patient registration, scheduling, or healthcare customer service experience who is looking to grow within a well-established healthcare organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer a high volume of inbound calls from patients across multiple office locations.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Triage patient calls and route clinical concerns to nursing staff when appropriate.
  • Schedule cardiology procedures, diagnostic testing, screenings, blood work, and follow-up appointments.
  • Perform patient intake activities and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients with questions and concerns.
  • Support check-in and check-out functions as needed.
