Your First Steps with Frontier: Transitioning Military A&P Technician Pathway Program
This pathway helps you move into a Frontier Airlines Licensed A&P Mechanic role. We’ll guide you through the FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) process (including 8610-2 eligibility) and prepare you to maintain Frontier’s Airbus A320-family fleet in a fast-paced airline environment, focused on safety, compliance, and quality.

The TMTP Program: How you’ll transition* 
  1. Apply at FlyFrontier.com 
  2. Verify FAA Form 8610-2 eligibility with Frontier Recruiting (if you don’t have it yet, we’ll guide you)
  3. Interview with Frontier Maintenance
  4. Accept employment in the Frontier system
  5. Receive a Conditional Job Offer (CJO) + pre-employment sign-on bonus (terms apply)
  6. Attend a fast-track prep course at a Frontier-approved location
  7. Report to your assigned base and start your career as a Licensed Technician / A&P Mechanic

Pay & Premiums 
Base rate: $29.39/hr. (increases to $29.90/hr. after 90 days)
Premiums (as applicable):  
+$1.20/hour Airframe (A) + $1.20/hour Powerplant (P)
  • +$1.00/hr. Run/Taxi qualified (after training)
  • +$1.00/hr. Graveyard shift
  • +$0.75/hr. 3+ years Airbus experience + Gen Fam certified (or after training)
  • +$0.75/hr. 3+ years Airbus experience + Troubleshooting certified (or after training)
Program bonus: Eligible candidates accepted into the program may receive a $10,000 pre-employment sign-on bonus (terms apply). Bonus requires a 3-year commitment; if employment ends before the commitment period, the full bonus amount plus interest is due.

What You’ll Do 
  • Make every departure safer. Perform and verify maintenance to FAA and Frontier standards
  • Solve real problems in real time. Troubleshoot, repair, and get aircraft back in service
  • Close the loop. Precise records, logbook/work card accuracy, and FMIS entries (as applicable)
  • Work by the book: MEL/CDL/NEF compliance and approved procedures (no unauthorized deviations)
  • Keep the ramp safe and sharp: Tool control, housekeeping, qualified GSE/run/taxi, and AOG support as needed
What You’ll Need to Succeed 
  • Meet FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) requirements, including FAA Form 8610-2 eligibility, and complete the TMTP pathway (A&P certificate required for Licensed A&P Mechanic role)
  • Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license and obtain required airport/Frontier driving endorsements
  • Obtain taxi and engine run-up qualification within 6 months of assignment to Line Maintenance (as directed)
  • Complete required differences training (as assigned)
  • Experience: 2+ years aircraft maintenance on Airbus A320-family or similar large aircraft (checks, engine changes, landing gear, structural repairs, flight control rigging, component maintenance) OR completion of an FAA-accredited A&P mechanic training program
  • Physical: Lift 50+ lbs. frequently and 100+ lbs. occasionally
If Assigned: Interior Crew Mechanic 
  • Perform interior removals/repairs/installs (seats, galleys, lavatories, panels, flooring)
  • May require additional qualifications (e.g., Airframe rating and/or differences training) based on assignment
What to Expect in this Role  
  • Hands-on aircraft maintenance in line maintenance / hangar environments, aligned with FAA regulations and Frontier procedures
  • Physical work: lift 50+ lbs. frequently and 100+ lbs. occasionally
  • Strict tool control (report lost/found tools immediately) and “clean as you go” housekeeping standards
  • Use maintenance systems and documentation practices to support safe, compliant operations
  • Operate GSE and airport vehicles when authorized/qualified (movement area rules apply)
  • Obtain engine run/taxi qualification and support AOG assignments as required by the labor agreement
