Job description
SUMMARY: Timely and accurately performs routine testing on laboratory instruments and testing authorized by the Supervisor. Responsible for management of patient specimens throughout the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing once the specimen arrives in the testing laboratory. Performs test as outlined in the laboratory’s standard operating procedures. Departments which apply are: Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, Histology, Molecular Pathology, and Immunohematology. The Laboratory Assistant is responsible to and will receive work assignments from laboratory technologists and/ or Laboratory Specialist.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Ability to follow instructions accurately and precisely
Strong attention to detail
Safety Sensitive Designation:
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk, occasionally bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds using proper body mechanics.
