Job description

Speech Language Pathology Assistant

Under the direction of the Credentialed Speech and Language Pathologist provides services to identified pupils with speech and/or language disabilities. This is an itinerant position and will work at various sites and under the direction/supervision of various speech and language therapists. This position is included in the classified bargaining unit and is subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership, payment of fees, or donation to a recognized charity.

Required Qualifications: Education and/or Training: AA/AS Degree in speech-language pathology required BA Degree in Communicative disorders or related field desired Credentials and/or Skills: Registration as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant with the State of California Must possess good organizational, writing and spelling skills. Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and a variety of software applications. Proficient in sign language desirable Bilingual in Spanish / Hmong desirable Experience: Experience of one year or more working with children in a classroom setting Experience as a speech and language therapist or speech and language pathology assistant
