Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Rate : Traveler  : $52 on w2 Per-Diem (Weekly ) = 1246/40 Gross weekly $3326
  • Shift Type: Days
  • Shift Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend/Holiday Work: Holidays required if needed, no weekend shifts
  • On-Call Requirements: None

Job Responsibilities

The Pathologists' Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, gross description, and dissection of surgical pathology specimens
  • Performing postmortem examinations under the medical direction of pathologists
  • Ensuring accurate collection and labeling of specimens
  • Maintaining quality standards and hospital/laboratory compliance
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations

Candidate Requirements

  • Certification: PA-ASCP certification (mandatory, equivalent certifications not accepted)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of current Pathology Assistant experience
  • Key Skills:
    • Competency in Frozen Sections, Grossing Biopsies, and Large Complex Specimens
    • Knowledge of HIS/LIS systems and assorted laboratory instrumentation
    • Strong proficiency in EPIC Beaker EMR (highly preferred)
  • Education: Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree accepted
  • Other Requirements:
    • Traveler must have their own vehicle for work-related travel
    • Medical compliance items must be ordered, collected, and resulted within 5 days of offer acceptance
    • Local candidates within 50 miles will NOT be considered
