Job description
- Perform independent multi-disciplinary research experiments under the direction of the principal investigator, Dr. Chiamvimonvat.
- Develop, design, and conduct complex research projects.
- Perform scientific data collections, reductions, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by use of independent judgment.
- Foster collaborations within the Department and with other units across the University.
- Utilize molecular biology, biochemical techniques and high resolution imaging, Perform in vitro functional analyses including patch-clamp and calcium measurements.
- Perform small animal surgery and in vivo phenotyping analyses.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of experiments, analyzing and writing findings.
- Present results at laboratory meetings and conferences.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in grant writing, including generating preliminary data, submitting grant applications, and preparing progress reports.
- Develop and implement protocols as dictated by experimental results.
- May assist with supervision of laboratory staff.
- Oversee maintenance of hazardous/chemical waste records and disposal as needed.
