Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking a talented, hospitality focused Pasta Cook to join our team DeNucci's in Lincoln Park.

Concept Overview: DeNucci’s is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept that celebrates the tradition of Italian American dining through handmade pastas, classic dishes, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, with locations in Lincoln Park, Highland Park, and Hinsdale. The menu reflects the comfort and generosity of Italian cooking with familiar favorites and house made specialties designed for sharing around the table.

Each restaurant is designed to feel vibrant and welcoming, creating a space where guests gather for celebratory dinners, casual meals with friends, or a glass of wine at the bar. With its warm hospitality, classic Italian flavors, and energetic dining rooms, DeNucci’s brings the spirit of a neighborhood Italian restaurant to communities across Chicago and the North Shore.

Job Summary: It is the primary responsibility of the Pasta Cook to perform advanced pasta cooking procedures to the standards of the Executive Chef; under the direct supervision of Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and/or Sous Chef. The Pasta Cook operates a specific station with others or independently. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental the restaurant’s policies, practices and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows recipes and SOP when preparing all menu dishes
  • Knowing the proper techniques of cooking pasta dishes.
  • Understanding of preparing stocks, soups and sauces
  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using recipes for cooking in broilers, ovens, sous vide, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to work all stations in the kitchen time of need.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Related Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining food preparation, food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent pasta cooking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm during high volume service or difficult situations.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of culinary experience in fine dining establishments.
  • Prior experience working in customer service.
  • Maintain a ServeSafe Food Handlers certification.
